Beadz is a robotics research group focusing on Built Environment, Automation, and Digitalization.
We are part of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Department @ National University of Singapore.
Our lab focuses on advancing automation and digitalization in the built environment, bridging cutting-edge research in Construction 4.0 with real-world engineering practice. We develop intelligent systems that integrate machine learning, multi-modal sensing, and data-driven analytics to enhance the safety, productivity, and reliability of construction and infrastructure operations. By leveraging interdisciplinary approaches across civil engineering, robotics-inspired automation, and digital technologies, our work aims to enable smarter decision-making, more efficient workflows, and more resilient built environments. Through close collaboration with industry and academia, we translate research innovations into practical solutions for modern construction and asset management.
We are currently collaborating with renowned and highly capable organizations, including Building and Construction Authority (BCA), HOPE Technik, BeeX, and NUS Advanced Robotic Center (ARC). These collaborations give us strong confidence in further advancing robotics and its applications in the construction industry.
Born out of the cutting-edge research at Beadz, BETEKK is a tech-driven spin-off startup dedicated to revolutionizing construction inspection. This innovation is translating our laboratory’s academic excellence into real-world industrial impact.
